hello kitty engagement calendar Helpful Guideline

This planner is perfect for people who have one or two things a day to keep track of, like a job interview, or a meeting with friends. It’s a nice calendar too, so you can sort things weekly and keep track of what’s ahead of you. The still photographs of plush hello kitty dolls are colorful and whimsical, reminsicent of Dare Wright’s The Lonely Doll. They almost have a mind of their own, as though Hello Kitty were really alive and about town. This product is really well suited to people with a short agenda as it doesn’t hold much per day, but is flashy enough to keep one’s attention unlike so many others. Another great feature is that is covers 15 months, so it is perfect for students or anyone who could use more kitty! I had this same planner with hello kitty a few years back, but it was 12 months only and I had to wait until school was half-way through. Overall a fun and useful product, great for a collecter or anyone who enjoys a bit of fun in their everday event management.

This years hello kitty engagement calendar is super cute as always, but the pages are filled with cartoon illustations of hello kitty and her friends instead of the various photos of hello kitty that featured in previous years’ calendars. I wish they would bring back such photos for the next 2008/2009 version, which in my opinion made the calendar all that more fun to use! :)

I’ve been using the Hello Kitty desk calendars for the last 2-3 years.
For 2008 they exchanged the metal spiral binding for this cheap-o plastic one. It makes it hard to turn the pages.
In the 2008 calendar the images are cartoons, unlike 2007 which had photos of Hello Kitty plushies in various poses. I like that some pictures are other Sanrio characters. The 2008 calendar also lists other Sanrio character birthdays.

For me the appeal of the Hello Kitty weekly calendars has been the Haikus. This edition doesn’t have the haikus which was a huge disapointment for me.

I wish they had kept the metal ring binding from last year and I would have given this 5 stars. The plastic binding does make the cover and pages more difficult to turn and far less durable.

Some people liked the photos from last year, but I personally prefer the cartoon drawings this year; I just wish they related to the particular month they are in.

No matter, I love the annual Hello Kitty engagement calendar and will continue to buy/use until they stop making it.

I get the Hello Kitty wall calendar and engagement calendar every year and was surprised to note that the 2008 engagement calendar doesn’t match the theme for the 2008 wall version–I seem to recall in years past that they’re supposed to support one another in themes.

This has seasonal cartoons, but sometimes they’re a little off–in September 2008 there’s a random picture of Hello Kitty dressed as Elvis while on surrounding pages the other cats and rabbits are in Native American and Pilgrim costumes. Adorable, but singularly weird.

The book is cute as always, but like others have said, the cartoons could be much larger and more complex. Sometimes they don’t make a lot of sense, like one of the characters surfing while holding up a pineapple, but that’s kind of the appeal of HK. I do like the amount of holidays that the book makes note of, like children’s festivals and especially reading events.

The plastic binding is annoying, but one problem is that it keeps slipping out of the holes–I’m thinking of gluing a small button at the top so I don’t have to constantly guide it back in.

Here’s hoping the wall calendar will be better–can’t wait for those new stickers!

This is one of many Hello Kitty books/calendars I own and it sits on my desk, providing information, a place to write quick notes and a place I can flip through to appreciate pretty pictures and cute drawings. If you’re a calendar buff like me, the layout of this book is very good, especially when you are making notes or planning your week. I also use a Palm PDA, and will make notes on the calendar first then when I am updating my Palm info, use the calendar as a reference. The biggest bonus is that it is HELLO KITTY!

    I can’t wait for the 2003 edition! …

I think it is the cutest engagement calendar. It was at a good price and shipped very quickly.

This engagement calendar has everything you need (except for the stickers…). It has enough space to write whatever you have planned each day. Each page is made of a thick glossy paper and each page contains a photograph of kitty in a different place in the world, doing something different and even dressed differently! It’s very good to carry everywhere. It’s got space to write phone numbers and notes. I totally recommend it =)
