I just received the mouse and it simply doesn’t work. The receiber is ok but the mouse doesn’t turn on with the new batteries. I do not know if I can retunr it becuase I ordered to Amazon from a different country and it looks the warranty is valid only for the US. I had spend money in something that would never work!

I purchased this mouse because I thought it was just the cutest thing. Setup on my Windows XP laptop was a snap. I just plugged in the USB dongle and the computer recognized it right away and loaded the software for it.
Setting up the mouse was easy too. I inserted two AA batteries and pressed the On/Off button on the bottom of the mouse and the synchronization button on the USB dongle and I was up and running in a matter of seconds.
It seems to me that the folks writing bad reviews of this mouse simply didn’t read the instructions. I read the instructions first, which helped a lot.
The Hello Kitty wireless mouse does not function like other wireless mice that I’ve used (namely Microsoft wireless mice). For one thing, you have to manually synchronize the Hello Kitty wireless mouse to the USB dongle, which I’ve never had to do with Microsoft wireless mice. The other thing different about the Hello Kitty wireless mouse is that it goes to sleep after ten minutes of inactivity. To wake it up, you have to press the left mouse button. On my Microsoft wireless mice, I only need to move the mouse. So, it’s easy to see why some folks would have trouble if they didn’t take the time to familiarize themselves with the Hello Kitty wireless mouse.
The reason I gave the Hello Kitty wireless mouse four stars instead of five is because it doesn’t function like other wireless mice that I’ve used. If it weren’t for the manual synchronization and having to press the left mouse button to wake it up, it would have received five stars.
I do like the Hello Kitty wireless mouse though. It’s just too cute.

I got this for my ma’s birthday and she loves it! She refers to it as the “bling bling mouse” because the of the cool little hello kitty design. Plus it is a very simple “plug and play” mouse, No messy install CD. And best of all it is vista compatible so that was a plus in her book.

This mouse will drive you nuts! I had to keep messing with it to get it to work every single time I got on my computer!
It would freeze.
It wouldn’t let me reset it from my control panel.
I am sending it back to the company I bought it from.
Terrible product! But very cute..

As an accessory, this is fabulous! As a mouse, well…it leaves something to be desired. For the most part, it works, but since it shuts itself off after a few moments (to save battery) you end up getting in the habit of clicking to make it go, which is a bad habit in the long run. Also, I found that it would shut itself off sometimes even when I was using it. Sometimes that led to clicking in places I really didn’t want to click.
The LED on the USB fob blinks whenever you use it, which can get annoying depending on its placement, and of course covering it up with electrical tape quite ruins the effect!
In my case, the axle on the scroll wheel eventually snapped, and that was it for the mouse–I can’t live without a scroll wheel any more. I took it apart to find that it was just cheap plastic. The mouse lasted me about three months.
But it’s pink, and it’s Hello Kitty, and it’s not particularly expensive, so whether or not to get it really depends on what your priorities are. If you’re in it for the mouse, pass it up — but if you’re in it for the Kitty, go for it!
